Is Phentermine Right for Me?

Is Phentermine Right for Me?

Losing weight is hard, and many people struggle to reach their weight goals on their own.

Here at Weston Medical Health & Wellness, our medical director, Dr. Andrea Bretal, is a specialist in obesity and weight loss because of her own struggles with weight. Through her personal and professional experience, she finds that traditional weight-loss methods rarely lead to long-term results.

We use many strategies to help our patients manage their weight, including weight-loss medications like phentermine. Can phentermine help you?

About phentermine

Phentermine is a weight-loss medication that increases chemicals in the brain that make you feel less hungry — so you eat less.

When you struggle with your weight, you may blame yourself and your lack of willpower. But weight and weight loss is a complex process. That’s why so many people struggle to lose weight and keep it off when following traditional weight-loss programs.

And hunger is one of the obstacles that makes it hard for so many to reach their weight goals. Hormones control your appetite. When you restrict intake and lose weight, your body fears starvation is near, triggering the release of hormones that increase your appetite.

Your body is biologically programmed to get you back to your previous weight. By controlling hunger, phentermine may help you change your body’s biological programming so you can keep the weight off.

Is phentermine right for me?

Medications like phentermine are part of the treatment plan for people with obesity. Whether it’s right for you or not depends on multiple factors.

First, we take your weight into consideration. We may consider you a candidate for phentermine if you have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher and weight-related health problems like high blood pressure or diabetes

Phentermine isn’t recommended for people with heart disease, poorly controlled hypertension, hyperthyroidism, or glaucoma.

How to succeed with phentermine

Phentermine alone can’t help you reach your weight goals. It works best when combined with a program that includes regular physical activity and a balanced eating plan.

We can give you all the tools you need to lose those unwanted pounds and stay at your goal weight, including diet, exercise, and weight-loss medications like phentermine.

We also offer lipotropic shots and can talk to you about the keto diet for weight loss.

Losing weight is a complex process, and no single method works for all. Don’t give up on yourself because you struggle to lose weight on your own. We’re here to help. Call our office in Weston, Florida, or click here to book an appointment with our weight-loss specialist.
